Services Provided: Principal author for a Development of Regional Impact
(DRI) application, strategic plan, and zoning application for 11,000 acres. Exten-
sive research and collaborative efforts for the master concept plan preparation,
project representation and public workshops and with the review agencies. Once
this property was chosen for the Florida Gulf Coast University, the project was
revamped and now includes two approved Developments of Regional Planning.

CENTRAL FLORIDA TRANSMISSION LINE PROJECT
Project Size: 1,600 square miles
Project Location: Levy, Citrus, Marion, Sumter, Lake, Hernando, Pasco,
Pinellas, Hillsborough and Polk Counties, Florida
Project Description: This study involved transmission line corridors and routing
studies related to a proposed nuclear power plant in Levy County, Florida. Multiple
69-kV, 230-kV and 500-kV transmission lines across 10 counties. Thousands of
miles of alternatives were studied resulting in about 200 miles of transmission lines.
Services Provided: Roles included assistant project manager, lead planner and
assistant planner. Work included designing all study areas, identifying most of the
candidate corridors, coordinating field reconnaissance in an area the size of Rhode
Island, enhancing the project review methodology, extensive research and
analysis, community outreach, land acquisition research and crafting the text
template for seven applications to the state for site certification (these became
chapters in an overall application for the proposed nuclear power plant). Thousands
of miles of alternative corridors and then routes were established and analyzed
with the goal of finding corridors and routes for these proposed transmission lines
that minimize their overall impact on the area, including homes, and natural and
cultural resources.

Services Provided: Project manager/lead planner. Approval strategy and
community site design. Submitted and negotiated the rezoning. Many meetings
with neighborhood groups to respond to their concern about compatibility and the
impact of the proposal on existing area residents. Multiple days of public hearings.
STONEYBROOK NORTH
Project Location: North Fort Myers, Florida
Services Provided: Project manager/lead planner. Lead a collaborative site
plan effort with alternatives ranging from a golf course focus to an equestrian
community to a family-oriented community. Multiple revisions responding to
changing priorities and community concerns. Seven full days of public hearing
before the Hearing Examiner including testimony and exhibit presentation,
responses to opposing council and supporting the other team members.
VASARI COUNTRY CLUB
Project Location: Bonita Springs, Florida
Services Provided: Lead planner on a multi-disciplinary team securing zoning
approval. Developed the site design for this golf course community through a
collaborative process. Submitted and supported the rezoning including multiple
responses to staff concerns including the golf course maintenance facility.
